How To Create IGNOU ABC Account 2024 Check Process

This time, creating IGNOU ABC Account has been made compulsory to pay the exam fees in July 2024.

Indira Gandhi National Open University is a university that works by the government rules and for the betterment of the students. As passed by the government of India it has become mandatory for the students to create an ABC account. The full form of ABC is Academic Bank of Credits.

ABC means the Academic Bank of Credits is the storehouse of the individual student. It is the virtual or digital storehouse where the candidate can store his information and the credits earned throughout his learning career.

How can a Student of IGNOU create an ABC Account

The steps that the candidate needs to follow to create the ABC account are as:

• Step 1: Go to the official student portal of IGNOU I.e. https://ignou.samarth.edu.in/index.php/site/login
• Step 2: A new screen will appear where you have to enter your user name which is your enrollment no and then your password and then the captcha.
• Step 3: Then when you press the submit button a new screen will be shown. Here you will find the option to create an ABC account.
• Step 4: Then select and click on the “Create/Link YOUr Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) Account” link. 
• Step 5: The clicking will redirect to the Digi Locker. 
• Step 6: Then on the next window select “Click Here to Link/Create your ABC account Link. 
• Step 7: If you do not have the Digi locker then the student has to create a Digi Locker account. After the creation of the account then log in with your Aadhar card number or Aadhar card-linked mobile number. Verify your login with OTP and proceed.
• Step 8: After logging in you will be able to see the option ‘Allow’. Simply click on the button. 
• Step 9: After logging in a message will flash saying ‘Congratulations! You have successfully created your IGNOU ABC account.” Now in IGNOU account, you can find your ABC number in your IGNOU Google account. This number is to be kept safe and will be used to fill the Term End Examination.

Second Method to Create ABC Account

The following steps will tell you the second way to create your IGNOU ABC account. This method will be useful to people who are facing difficulty in making their account from the IGNOU Samarth Portal.

• Step 1: You need to visit the official Digilocker website. There you need to enter your Digilocker account if you have created it. If you do not have a Digilocker then create an account first.
• Step 2: After logging in to the digilocker click on the ‘Search Document’ option. When you click on the Search Down option a drop-down menu will appear. In the drop-down menu select ‘APAR/ABC ID Card- Academic Bank of Credits’.
• Step 3: Then a screen will appear which will ask for your details. Fill in the details as your name as per the Aadhar Card, date of birth, gender, and other information. In the institute option select the Indira Gandhi National Open University option.
• Step 4: After entering the details click the ‘Get Document’ button and with that, your task gets completed. Now you can download your ABC card. 
• Thus the ABC account can be created.
